hello again dear kinfolk and thanks for joining me my pastor Visser of the covenant people's church in ministry located in downtown Brooke and today I'm pleased to announce that we're going to be continuing our exposition into the Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Galatians now there are so many important statutes and doctrines that are taught by Paul in Galatians but basically what we have covered so far it's Paul talking a bit about his conversion on the road to Damascus explaining that he went into a three-year sabbatical and then returned and stayed with Peter for a while he also stayed with James the half-brother of Christ before he went full-time into the ministry trying to convert the Gentile nations and thus in chapter 2 at the end of part three we left off with Paul basically getting ready to explain his falling out that he had with the Apostle Peter this is important because Peter was called by Christ in fact it was Yahshua who told Peter upon you Petros the rock will I establish my church and whatsoever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven thus we left on in Galatians chapter 2 but verse 9 where Paul continues and he says when James Caiaphas and John who seemed to be pillars perceived the grace that was given unto me they gave to me Barnabas the right hands of fellowship that we should go unto the heathen and they unto the circumcision now I'm sure you're well aware of this fact but Peter was an ambassador unto the Israelite men women and children whereas Paul was considered an ambassador unto the Gentiles but here what he is saying is that James the brother of Christ Caiaphas and jaw Caiaphas is a polite way of Peter when they all seem to be pillars because they most assuredly will or were but when that grace was given when Paul came in and basically said I'm going to may of the gen to bring them to the truth of the gospel the grace in Christ's blood well this is what happened we should go unto the heathen and they unto the circumcision now I want you to consider a statement that Paul writes in Romans chapter 1 because he says and births lies concerning his son Jesus Christ our Lord which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the spirit of holiness by the resurrection of the Dead by whom we have received Grace and Apostleship now you have no grace outside of Christ's blood and you're technically no apostle or disciple if you are a Christ denier in short in Antichrist but yet Peter denied Christ three times before the very cock even crew so what can we learn from that well it is ironic that the papacy comes in and says you know Peter was the first pope really is Peter a great example by whom we have received Grace and Apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for his name among whom here also the calls of Jesus Christ through the rodents another Gentile fan but many of what many of the things that are being discussed in this particular narrative by Paul are important and applicable to our Christian wat today in the regards that the law won't save you the law never did save anybody the law was there to define sin so if you made a boo-boo and you transgress you could go back and you could make a sin atone at the hands of a priest in the hopes that God would forgive you so let's now continue our narrative in verse 10 of Galatians chapter 2 only they would that we should remember the poor the same which I also was forward to do forward in the King's English is a polite way of saying eager and Paul is saying that Peter Caiaphas James and John Oh welcomed him with open arms as an ambassador unto the heathen nation but they had one request of him and that request was that they would remember the poor now Christ clearly taught to the rich young fool that he was to sell all he had and give it directly to the poor so be on guard against false prophets who come in and they say you know what send me your money so I can attribute it to the poor nine times out of ten the poor that they attribute that fun to is themselves so basically in short this is what James Peter and John request a fall now this is the third time at least according to Galatians that Paul has had a dealing with the first generation apostles and I want you to notice that none of them come in and say hey this used to be solved so he's not our brother anymore rather they welcomed him with open arms and this dispute that Paul is about to have with Peter is a striking about the law because even though Peter walked with Christ even though he would deny and not learn from life experience well quite still clearly said he was the rock the rock upon which doctrine is to be established because of the realization that Jesus Christ was Yahweh in flesh form that is what the church is supposed to be established on that is that Christ is Messiah but what does Messiah mean Redeemer who was the promised Redeemer of the Old Testament and so under the New Covenant if you come in and say Christ is not he your Antichrist if you say his blood is not sufficient consider Acts chapter 11 it is here where this happens that this point that Paul is referencing in Acts chapter 11 we learn in verse 30 then the disciples every man according to his ability determined to send relief unto the Brethren which dwelt in the land of Judea which also they did and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul not Paul in this context as we read it in Acts chapter turn and so it's already confirmed Paul is providing you the second witness that he truly was in a legit apostle ordained of Christ to do what it was that he did now this request was made but verse 11 clearly says Paul speaking in Galatians chapter 2 but when Peter was come to Antioch I withstood him to the face because he was to be blamed what does that mean that means Paul is saying that Peter was with fault here and that when Peter came to Antioch Paul himself withstood him not behind the scenes like a little chump but face to face mano-a-mano Paul wasn't a coward and it took much lines on the part of a man who once was a Pharisee persecuting the Church of God above measure to come and actually withstand one of the calls apostles of Jesus Christ but he had to and so do you and I when Judaism then comes and rears its ugly head in spite or in place of the grace of Christ and that is what Paul begins us off this uh epistle long saying that his goal was to bring you back to the simplicity patron gospel that he received by revelation from Jesus Christ so when Peter came to Antioch Paul withstood him where can we read about that in Acts chapter 15 so foot back there very quickly and I'll prove this point before we move on in Acts chapter 15 we learn beginning in verse 32 Judas and Silas being prophets also themselves exhorted the Brethren with many words and confirmed them and after a space they had carried there and were let go in peace from the Brethren unto the Apostles notwithstanding it please Silas to about they're still Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch and preaching the word of the Lord with many others also this is that point in the book of acts that paul is referencing here in Galatia when Peter came to Antioch so it wasn't an instantaneous thing it wasn't like Peter came to Antioch and all of a sudden Paul and Peter are at each other's throat rather it had to deal with the fact that they were having fellowship but Peter had a problem with anyone going today of the uncircumcision but again what was circumcision according to the Mosaic law but an outward sign of an inward grace to coppa day term so Paul withstood Peter the very rock the very foundation that Christ said his church would be established upon on earth what happens first of all for before that certain man came from James he did eat with the Gentiles but when they were come he referencing Peter went through and separated himself fearing them which were of the circumcision so why did Peter go back from the grace that was shown him because of the fear of the Jews in short peer pressure the way of the world and that was seeing within Peter initially because as Christ was being at least put in trial by toilet and Herod men came to Peter and said are you not one of his disciples didn't you walk with them and Peter said hey I don't know this man denying Christ perhaps that's a study for another day but this isn't far removed and who is the greater sent here Peter or Paul Paul understood the spirit Peter understood the flesh but bless your blood again does not inherit the kingdom of God never will so notice also in verse 12 Paul says for before that certain men came from James Peter ate and sat and dined with the Gentiles so this is an allegory that we can overlay within our walk because you can turn whore into a housewife it doesn't mean she'll stay that way you can take the feral beast out of the jungle but you can't take that jungle out of the beasts of the field and thus this is what happens Peters walking along with all the other apostles and having no problem seemingly fulfilling what his master supposedly did which is dining with sinners and publicans or quote-unquote Gentiles but when the Jews come the fear of the Jews they put pressure on Peter and Peter folds like always Paul didn't he was steadfast and resisted even Peter because Paul once being a Pharisee known as Saul knew Judaism and knew how to point it out when it reared its ugly head another thing I want you to understand about verse 12 as it was Peter who separated themselves or separated himself out from his own people that you did now what's interesting about this word separate or separated in the Greek is that it usually means fella sales Pharisee in the Greek means a separatist and wasn't that they were sanctified and set aside and holy to Yahweh God it was that they separated themselves out from their own people now the contention between Paul and Peter was over who God's covenant people off that source of contention still exists today because men want to come in and they say hey only I have salvation and that is a surefire sign that God doesn't owe them to God no Peter of course Christ knew Peter but just because we walk with the hint with the master just because we have a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus doesn't mean we won't fall from grace therefore in chapter 1 when Paul mentions James and he mentions Peter he's not name-dropping he's about to contend for the faith once delivered unto the Saints brooming Paul wasn't a hypocrite he practiced what he screeched so what's where was this actually this is an Acts chapter 10 before we move on I want to prove this to you I know we've been going to the book of Acts but I really want to confirm to you because what's interesting is most men have a have no problem with the book of Acts they would say hey it's fine it's canon but then they come in and they attack Paul who's mentioned in the book of Acts his epiphany his conversion and the great miracles that he did and he did do miracles so also did Peter Peter converted thousands of people in the book of Acts so did Paul and many times and in many instances by the growth indiscriminately and in mass that's what Peter did he did greater works than even Christ in for a time until the fear or the pressure of the world came in from Peter felt that he needed to shrink back because of what men say now remember in Galatians Paul says if I please man I would not be the servant of God meaning men pleasers can't truly be a service that doesn't mean that they don't know theology or they can to preach a good game but when you do what you do because you are concerned with what men think of you as opposed to Christ you've already missed the mark therefore in Acts chapter 10 we learn in verse 28 Peter took him up saying stand up I myself am also a man this is when Peter has its vision and ultimately comes and deals with Cornelius the Italian we mentioned this in part in part three and said unto you know that it is unlawful for a man that is at udn to keep company or even come unto one of another nation but God has showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean therefore came I unto you without gain saying as soon as I would send forth I asked therefore for what intent did you send forth now what's interesting about this narrative is obviously Peters vision that he had on the rooftop was of a great sheep spelled at the four corners by four angels and on that sheet with every manner of four-footed beasts and a voice was heard from heaven saying rise Peter kill and eat Peter then returns to Yahshua by saying I've never eaten anything common or unclean that's the Mosaic law and God then says what I have cleansed don't you call common or unclean so Peter obviously learned this in the book of that chapters 9 and 10 right around the time Paul was converted so much so that when Cornelius came to him Peter guess the definition of his explanation on the rooftop from the book of Acts by saying God has showed me not to call any man common or unclean not a pig not a catfish right and not clams men thus once upon a time according to the book of Acts realized that God was not a respecter of persons that there truly was no Grecian or Judean amongst him men or women even we are all one in Christ Jesus but not here not here why because of the fear of the Jews when Paul meets Peter at Antioch he has to withstand him because Peter wasn't at this point around 68 AD teaching what he had learned Paul was why is that important because that's obviously one of the many reasons that Christ rose up Paul to not only be an ambassador unto the Gentiles but unto the Israelite men women and children as we've confirmed from the book of Acts so back here in Galatians chapter 2 but verse 13 where we learn Paul says and the other Jews dissembled likewise with him who Peter and so much that Barnabas was also carried away with their discipline their decimation now disel nation is a word that means hypocrisy and as I pointed out Peter separated himself and Barnabas went with Peter from Paul Paul had Barnabas and they were close friends that's confirmed here and in the book of Acts we've proved it today so they became a spiritual Pharisee a separatist but notice Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy now I want to point out several things about the lxx at least verse 13 in Galatians 2 usually reads in its entirety and the other Jews played the hypocrite with Peter and so much that even Barnabas was carried away with in the thralls of their hypocrisy what would Christ told the Pharisees and the Gospels as he walked he would say woe unto you scribes and Pharisees hypocrites not in a nutshell of Judaism hypocrisy an outward show saying hey I believe in God and I'm so special to God my flesh is so great everyone else are lowercase goyim they're technically animals and subjugating separating themselves out from God's chosen people being the white anglo-saxon Scandinavian and German a Germanic kindred people now another thing I want you to understand is hypocrisy is something that every one of us can deal with in our everyday what Peter dealt with it because he knew better now for sake of argument if man came in and said you must deny Christ you need to sacrifice a lamb a turtle dump a pigeon or a bullock but Christ's blood was insufficient as it was slain on Calvary you also will need to have a falling-out with them there is no communication between light and dark and the children of light and the children of darkness but anyway verse 14 but when I Paul speaking saw that they did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the gospel now they thought they were walking uprightly did they not in something that was known as the tradition of the elders that Christ clearly said makes no the Word of God he told the Pharisees you make no you make no the Word of God with your own tradition and thus many people erroneously say hey the Jews follow the Torah but they don't they don't follow the Mosaic law rather they follow the Torah and the Talmud is a compilation of all of those oral traditions of the elders the Pharisees that we and Christendom today are dealing with and contending so why am i spending so much time here because even though we are the sons and daughters of Yahweh God there is no guarantee that we can't be turned back like a dog debarment or a south washed to her wallowing in the mire there is no one saved always saved and basically Paul is saying Peter knew all of these things but pre medically decided he would rather side with Judaism over the conversion of the Gentiles put this in perspective when we read all of these Pauline epistles they deal with converting of the Gentiles thus he says when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel I said unto Peter before all be Israelites if thou being a jew daeun lives after the manner of the gentiles and not as the gentiles do then why are you compelling the gentiles to live as to jews what is Paul do we call Peter out on his hypocrisy he said you once upon a time had no problem with Gentiles you even knew in the book of Acts that God said it was forbidding you to call any man that was washed in the blood of Christ common or unclean in reference to sent the Centurion Cornelius so he doesn't do it behind the scenes like my detractor does he came to the mano-a-mano face-to-face and Paul told Peter you err if you think being a Judea is so great and you see that you have salvation in the Mosaic law then why aren't you compelling the Gentiles to live esta juice do let's continue reading now this is very important after Paul makes this public announcement a Peter after he says well you once dying with sinners and publicans why then are you now showing out in front of the tyke he says right here in verse 15 we who are Judeans by nature and not sinners of the Gentiles we know who they are knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law now I want to stop right there Paul's not saying the law is done away with all is clearly saying that men are not justified through or by that law through the works or the deeds of the law now how do you work the law well that's only in Senate only because there's no work to be spoken up if God says serve no other gods well you can't do anything about that but obey repent or perish but there is a work of the Lord and that's what Paul talks about here being freed from the works of the law because that's what Peter was attempting to do he already drew back because of the fear of the Jews and separated himself out isn't that great so in Christian identity we have many groups just like this there little cliques and in my estimation they're nothing more than a cult being led by silly men but that's exactly how you should know who's not true if we cannot fellowship one with another and that is in reference to the true men women and children of Yahweh God then we most assuredly brew fruits can't sit there and be a hypocrite hypocrisy another polite way of saying the leaven of the Pharisees so again I asked just as Paul does in Galatians what is greater having your foreskin cut off or purging your life your home and your mind from the leaven of the Pharisees which teaches separatism racial separatism and at the end of the day it won't find you within the coming kingdom Christ says as many as I love I cast out there's your goats in judgment now you can say hey I follow a law that's a great thing but law was the law was made for sinful men that's to keep you from dying really that's to keep you healthy but it's not to obtain entrance into the kingdom and that is exactly what Paul is saying here he says knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by the faith of Jesus Christ even we have believed in Jesus that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of all pay close attention for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified notice he doesn't say Israelite he doesn't say Gentile Paul says no flesh will be spared you're not justified through the law justification sanctification and forgiveness of sins doesn't come from what was outlined in the Mosaic law in the penitent it comes from faith and Christ whosoever believed it to him they have the power to be called the sons of God right that's Christ and his teaching so that doesn't dissing ol with the importance of pedigree what it does do however is blown through the hypocrisy of men for example when the Pharisees came to Christ and they said who is my neighbor he would launch into a parable of the Good Samaritan and in that parable Christ wasn't using the Samaritan as an example of a covenant person he was using the example of the Samaritan in contrast to the Pharisee and clearly said which one of these was its neighbor the ones who walked on or the American who was able to understand the will mind an intent of God which is that all should come to repentance so there's a few things I want to prove turn with me to the Athan the Epistle of Paul to the Romans chapter one now what's interesting about chapter one is it does deal with Paul's authorship and salutation just as we covered in the book of Galatians however right here in Romans chapter one we learned beginning in verse 16 Paul says I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ or it has the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth now this Paul say to everyone who keeps the law perfectly to everyone who never said no the gospel has the power to save everyone who believeth in context now this book is exclusive not together it deals with the Gentiles or the Israel but the book has the power faith in Christ belief in his blood being sufficient has the power to free you not the works of the law so he says I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes it to the Jew first and also into Gentile Christ clearly proved that with his dealing with the Samaritan woman at the well which the other Gospels confirm she was a Greek hero Phoenician she wasn't a non one but when she came and asked for a blessing Christ clearly told where it is not meet to take the children's bread and cast it on to dog where do you think polar and the cinnamon that the Word of God has the power to say that is if you believe it it's not going to save you if you don't believe it like a majority of the world I think it's an allegorical book of fables but they don't believe it they believe the book they believe in it but they don't believe it and there is a difference in another thing I want you to consider we've just covered Romans right how about Romans but chapter three this time Paul says in Romans chapter 3 but verse 20 you know it's his will and approves all the things that are more excellent and being instructed within the law of God and our confidence that thou thyself are a guide of the blind the light of them which dwell in darkness an instructor of the foolish a teacher of babes which have the form of knowledge and the truth and the wall now therefore which teachers another teach us now not thyself now that preaches the man should not steal how come you yourself do not steal hypocrisy once again and that was seen in the Pharisees they sat on Solomon's porch they sat in the very temple of Jerusalem they said thou shalt not kill cause it thou shalt not a dull terrain but all the while were conspiring to put Yahshua Messiah to death for all the good deeds he did raising the dead getting eye sight to the blind feeding the hungry right observing the golden rule by fall practicing what he preached so if we could sprinkle some of this on our own Christian walk we wouldn't be mislead quite as much do the preachers you listen to actually do what they told you to do because many of them want to tell you what to do but not do it themselves they feel like we're above the law that's a Pharisee in a nutshell the Levitical law said not to despise widows sinners publicans but yet still when Christ died wish them caught them and would prefer their company over the Pharisees the scribes the Pharisees the Sanhedrin would marvel every single time and so verse 17 back in Galatians chapter 2 Paul says but while we speak to be justified by Christ we ourselves are also found sinners is therefore Christ a minister of sin God forbid a nice way of saying certainly not or absolutely not so notice while men come in and they tell you Paul taught the law was nailed to the cross that's not what Paul's saying Paul right here are straightforwardly asking if we're justified by Christ then it's the laws on a wait list god forbid absolutely not the law is not done away with but we're not justified by the law you never were just because you eat pork doesn't mean you're not you're not better than a lowly sinner okay that was clearly taught by Christ in his parable of the publican right and the Pharisee the Pharisee sat there in Christ allegory saying thank God they didn't create me like this sitter one so break hi my team empire but in that parable of Christ the sinner went home justified why because of the spirit the spirit of the Pharisee has lifted up ego vain the same exact mindset that caused the double default the desire to want to be like the Most High and be reverenced in place of grunts now Herod understood that Christ was a threat to his position so also to the Pharisees and so also do many people in CI when they proceed a particular person as a threat they'll usually go out and smear them or erect a straw man and attack that so if we seek to be justified by Christ we ourselves are found sinners he asked then it's a law or the works of the law done away with that is Christ a minister of sin this is important because in judeo-christian them they basically tell you Christ died for sinners therefore you can be a center you can be an abomination in the eyes of Christ because well Christ died so you can serve other gods kill steal and destroy like no so Paul reiterates it who confirms apply here and in my opinion this proves that he was sharp as a tack he already could perceive because he dealt with it then Jews coming in and saying hey Christ is it Masaki Peter did that when he denied Christ three times the spiritually we can also deny Christ like seeking to be justified through the law because we're justified through the blood of Jesus Christ over I want you to consider a segment John makes remember Paul says here that he hung out with John at Antioch he rebuked Peter right before John and James and many of the other disciples that were still living at that time so consider the first epistle of John but chapter 3 where we learn in verse eight he that committed sin is of the devil for his seed remaineth in him for the devil seed or the devil since from the beginning for this purpose what purpose because the devil send in the very beginning the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil works of the devil works of the law both destroyed now before we go too deep and I start running listenership away we're going to leave it at that but John is equated the works of the Lord discernment tactic so you'll know who's true and who's Jew who's a Pharisee and who's a Christian the Pharisees will always come and say do the law they'll say hey the lon tithing right but they'll never prove their Oliv itical priests let's continue in verse 18 here in Galatians chapter 2 Paul says for if I build again the things which I destroyed I'll make myself a transgressor for I through the law am dead unto the law that I might live unto God now this is a cryptic statement made by Paul and I have to go to a couple places to actually prove what Paul say turn with me to the eighth chapter of Romans where we learn in verse 2 for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death again the law was made for simple men if you know sin if you're not a habitual sinner and you're not a brother of low-degree you're technically above the law but no man can come in and say I can't keep them but no man on that same token can come in and say that the law was justified with only Christ's atoning work which was pleasing in the eyes of Yahweh God clearly another thing I want you to consider is found in first Corinthians chapter 9 because Paul teaches many things in Corinthian and in all of these epistles first Corinthians chapter 9 Paul says here beginning in verse 19 for though I be free from all men I have made myself a servant unto all that I might gain more and more and unto the Jews I became as a Jew that I might gain the Jews to them that are under the law as under the law that I might gain them that are under the law to them that are without law after the law being not without law to God but under the law to Christ that I might gain them that are without the law who the Gentiles and so in life you may have heard this adage when in Rome do as the Romans do it comes directly from Paul who says when I was in the land of Judea well I ate space drink and thought as a Jew did but when Paul went to Rome II was a Roman he became as a Roman when he went on to the Gentiles he did what was required to reach those Gentiles now the law was given to Israel the Gentiles are technically justified through faith in christ and not belong so i asked you at the conclusion of this lecture part 4 whose greater the israelites or the gentile well if you violate the law you're guilty of all of the law therefore the Gentile would be in a greater position because a sin committed in ignorance it's not technically a sin at all and it was Paul who would clearly say if we sin knowingly we crucified Christ afresh we touched upon that briefly today if you believe that the Judeans way is the best way to be then why aren't you converting to Judaism No so you're rather a Christian you claim that title but engage in Pharisee and so with that being established I will be back and joining you very shortly with the conclusion and
