    Election & Predestination..

    Ephesians 1 : 4&5 reads..
"even as he chose us in him before the foundations of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love. "

" He predestined us for adoption thru Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will. "

He knew us before we were born. I believe that those who are God's elect stood against Satan when he went to war with God and did overcome in that earth age..before this earth age see..Jer 4: 23-28 I don't think Jer 4 is talking about Noah's flood, which was I believe was local.

There had to be a reason why one is an Israelite and not one of the sixth day races. Psalms 104 : 1-9 and 2 Peter 3 add that there was a earth age before this one.

    What are your thoughts?

    Re: Election & Predestination..

If I am a Israelite, i.e God's elect, do I still have free will..do I have a choice in things regarding faith & belief in God ?

Or, does predestination mean one who doesn't have free will ?

Romans 9:13 " As it is written, Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.."

Jeremiah 1:5 " Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you,
I appointed you a prophet to the nations. "

My best answer is only a opinion. I am not a studied person in the bible. Predestination or not predestination. Human nature takes the path of least resistance. Hard work and effort can do wonders. Hard to get a universal opinion on doctrine. Everybody is different.
My answer. Necessity to overcome the adversary who or where ever the person may be.
