Yahweh's Food Laws: Bacon, Pig, Boar, Ham, Swine or Hog?

The eating of pork is an abomination according to God’s law. Swine is always referred to negatively in the Bible and is taken for granted as the food of the godless. Throughout the Bible, Hebrews and Israelites did not eat pork. Not one instance can be found, throughout the entirety of the Scripture, of a righteous man consuming swine.

Modern day “Christians” are fond of claiming that the Mosaic food laws—and the Mosaic Law in its entirety—were abolished with Christ’s finished work. They go on to claim that this is affirmed in Peter’s vision and by Christ’s teachings in the Gospels.

When one objectively examines Christ’s New Testament teachings their spiritual context is clearly apparent. Jesus is condemning what was known in His time as the “Tradition of the Elders”—the Talmudic hypocrisy of the Pharisees—known commonly today as Judaism (Judaic Rabbinism). In Matthew 15v17 Christ tells us:

“…Whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught.”

    And likewise, Mark 7v19:

“It entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats.”

Here the word “meats” is translated for the Greek word “broma” (Strong’s #1033). Liddell and Scott’s Greek-English Lexicon gives the definition of broma as, “That which is eaten, food, meat.” So we see that broma in Mark 7v19 does not explicitly mean meat in a carnivorous sense, as in the muscular tissues of animals. Webster’s Dictionary gives its first definition of meat as:

    1) “Food in general; any kind of nourishment.” (See note #1)

Here in Matthew and Mark there is no question of unclean food, for anything not ordained by God in the Mosaic Law was simply not considered food. Furthermore, in both instances the disciples were not accused of eating unclean meats: the scripture tells us they were eating bread. Peter confirms this in Acts 10:14 where he tells the Lord, “I have never eaten anything common or unclean.” Christ’s teachings regarding food in Matt 15:19-20 and Mark 7:21-32 are concluded with an admonition against spiritual wickedness, once again proving spiritual context.

Modern day “Christians” also confound Peter’s vision to prove hands down that a man can eat any animal. These learned theologians are fond of quoting from Acts chapter 10v15—“What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common,” not realizing the condemnation this scripture brings to their own position. “What God has made clean” is stated emphatically in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14. Verse 16 continues:

“This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven. Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate.”

If this vision is so easily interpreted by today’s laymen as the abolition of dietary food laws then why was it such a perplexing mystery to the Apostle Peter? Is the modern everyday Christian just “smarter” than the Church Father to whom Jesus Christ gave the keys to the Kingdom? We think not. If these Bible thumping cretins read on to verse 28, they would see that Peter’s vision was an allegory meaning “…God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.” This Scripture tells us of the redemption of the “gentiles”; gentilized Israelites being brought back in, or remarried into God’s racial family—the fulfillment of Hebrews 8v8—which is one of the main themes of the New Testament.

Whether or not one believes that the entire Mosaic Law, or only parts of the law are still in effect becomes a moot point in the light of God’s eternal law, for Eternal Laws of God transcend Mosaic Law.

In Genesis 4, we read the story of Cain murdering his brother Abel. Cain is punished for this, which shows us that murder is against God’s eternal law, for prohibition against murder precedes the Mosaic Law. This prohibition against murder is affirmed in the Mosaic Law. If the Mosaic Law is abolished then are we to believe that murder is no longer against God’s Law? God forbid!

We have established the validity of God’s Eternal Law and it indeed applies to the food laws as well. Before the Mosaic Law was given to the Israelites we read in Genesis 7 of the story of Noah. God commands Noah to “take with you seven pairs of each kind of clean animal, but only one pair of each unclean animal.” This is proof positive that dietary laws were in effect before the Law of Moses, which places them under the Law Eternal. The Mosaic Law confirms these food laws in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14. Specifically “the swine…he is unclean.” (Leviticus 11:7)(Deuteronomy 14:8) Just as murder is against God’s Eternal Law, so is the eating of pork.

No amount of minimization or justification changes the negative connotation of swine in the Bible. Time and time again both the Old and New Testaments remind us that the pig is an animal of the basest defilement.

In the New Testament our Savior tells us, “Give not that which is Holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine.” (Matthew 7:6) Again, we are told of how Jesus casts a legion of demons into an herd of swine. (Mark 7:9-16) (Luke 8:30-33) One must wonder at the fact that the demons themselves besought Christ to cast them into the swine. Why would a Christian seek to ingest a beast that demons are eager to enter?

In the Old Testament book of 2 Maccabees, we find our Judean ancestors preferring torturous death to the eating of swine. As the story goes, a Judean mother and her seven sons are arrested by the heathen king who had them tortured and fried alive in a man-sized pan because they refused to eat pork. (2 Maccabees 7:1-42) These Judeans chose this fate rather than to abandon the laws of our God and ancestors. May their sacrifice never be in vain. In the name of Jesus Christ let all followers of the Way abstain from swine as a memorial to these saintly martyrs.

The vast majority of Christians do not understand exactly how filthy and unclean a swine really is when compared to a clean animal such as a cow. Here are some “Pig and Pork Facts” from Clinton Fultz:

“A pig is a real garbage gut. It will eat anything including urine, excrement, dirt, decaying animal flesh, maggots, or decaying vegetables. They will even eat the cancerous growths off other pigs or animals. The meat and fat of a pig absorbs toxins like a sponge. Their meat can be 30 times more toxic than beef or venison. When eating beef or venison, it takes 8 to 9 hours to digest the meat so what little toxins are in the meat are slowly put into our system and can be filtered by the liver. But when pork is eaten, it takes only 4 hours to digest the meat. We thus get a much higher level of toxins within a shorter time. Unlike other mammals, a pig does not sweat or perspire. Perspiration is a means by which toxins are removed from the body. Since a pig does not sweat, the toxins remain within its body and in the meat. Pigs and swine are so poisonous that you can hardly kill them with strychnine or other poisons. Farmers will often pen up pigs within a rattlesnake nest because the pigs will eat the snakes, and if bitten they will not be harmed by the venom. When a pig is butchered, worms and insects take to its flesh sooner and faster than to other animal's flesh. In a few days the swine flesh is full of worms. Swine and pigs have over a dozen parasites within them, such as tapeworms, flukes, worms, and trichinae. There is no safe temperature at which pork can be cooked to ensure that all these parasites, their cysts, and eggs will be killed. Pig meat has twice as much fat as beef. A 3 oz T bone steak contains 8.5 grams of fat; a 3 oz pork chop contains 18 grams of fat. A 3 oz beef rib has 11.1 grams of fat; a 3 oz pork spare rib has 23.2 grams of fat. Cows have a complex digestive system, having four stomachs. It thus takes over 24 hours to digest their vegetarian diet causing its food to be purified of toxins. In contrast, the swine's one stomach takes only about 4 hours to digest its foul diet, turning its toxic food into flesh. The swine carries about 30 diseases which can be easily passed to humans. This is why God commanded that we are not even to touch their carcass (Leviticus 11:8). The trichinae worm of the swine is microscopically small, and once ingested can lodge itself in our intestines, muscles, spinal cord or the brain. This results in the disease trichinosis. The symptoms are sometimes lacking, but when present they are mistaken for other diseases, such as typhoid, arthritis, rheumatism, gastritis, MS, meningitis, gall bladder trouble, or acute alcoholism. The pig is so poisonous and filthy, that nature had to prepare him a sewer line or canal running down each leg with an outlet in the bottom of the foot. Out of this hole oozes pus and filth his body cannot pass into its system fast enough. Some of this pus gets into the meat of the pig. There are other reasons grounded in biological facts that could be listed to show why pigs and swine should not be eaten. But a true Christian should only need one reason why not to eat this type of food because God prohibited it.”

Just as the good Lord does not expect us to eat feces and piss, and chew up maggots, he does not expect us to eat a vile beast that does.

The Bible admonishes us to “read, study, and learn to shew thyselves approved.” Any and every biblical doctrine must not be taken for granted just because some “preacher” attests to it. Many so-called “biblical truths” that have been taught to us from our youths can easily be disproved with only a perusal of a Greek lexicon, Bible dictionary, or if you can believe it, by simply studying your Bible in prayer and earnest, for the Bible is its own best commentary. Truth loving, God fearing Christians will read this and learn the seriousness of this subject. Its magnitude forces the Christian to a fanatical stance regarding the food laws, choosing not only to die for our beliefs, but like the Maccabees of old, utterly destroy those that would reduce us to spiritual slavery by forcing us to break the Holy Laws of God. Praise and glory to Jesus Christ Almighty—death to all who oppose him (Luke 19:27). Hail His Victory!

    NOTE #1

    The definition reads:

    1) Food in general; any kind of nourishment.

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you

“Moving thing” is translated for the Hebrew “ramas”(#7430)--a reptile or any other rapidly moving animal: - that creepeth, creeping (moving) thing.

“Meat” as used here is from the Hebrew “oklah”(#402) food: - consume, devour, eat, food, meat. Oklah is the same word used in Gen.1v29-30, and in these verses refers to “herbs bearing seed” and “trees.”

    The Septuagint renders Gen.9v3 as:

“And every reptile which is living shall be to you for meat, I have given all things to you as the green herbs.”

“Meat” here is translated from the Greek “brosin”(from broma).

“Reptile” here is translated from the Greek “herpeton”(#2062)

From Liddell and Scott’s Greek-English Lexicon:

    Herpeton—A walking animal, quadruped… II. A creeping thing, reptile…

When examining these scriptures and definitions a Christian must take the entire context of the Bible into consideration. A man who only wishes to find some “loophole” in God’s Law that allows him to eat swine could use this verse as such, but the man who loves truth sees that the Bible in its entirety condemns the eating of unclean foods.

In John 7v24 our Savior admonishes us to “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” Even if this one Genesis verse appears to the scoffers to allow the eating of unclean food, a man in whom the Spirit of Truth resides will judge righteous judgment and recognize that the entire weight of the Scripture crushes any misinterpretation of Gen.9v3. “Any moving thing” can only mean “any quadruped ordained by God as clean.”

From the Chaldean Translation of Genesis 9:3, the intent was serpent, or reptile, however in context of the surrounding verses, which order the absolute slaughter of "beasts with hands" that Kill man, the appropriate connotation of Gen 9:3 is to destroy all children of the fallen angels, called "Nephalim", down to their children.

NAT Genesis 9:1 The Heavenly Hosts venerated Noah and his sons, ordering them to breed and increase to refill the land.

Darby Gen 9:1 And God blessed Noe and his sons. And he said to them: Increase, and multiply, and fill the earth.

2 The fear and terror of you will be with mammal of this land, upon every bird of the sky, upon everything that swarms on your homeland, and upon all of the fish of the waters, they are compelled into your dominion.

Gen 9:2 And let the fear and dread of you be upon all the beasts of the earth, and upon all the fowls of the air, and all that move upon the earth: all the fishes of the sea are delivered into your hand.

Read the following verses as in their own context, it is clear that this is an order to cleanse the lands of all non-Aryan peoples, from the Nephalim, "reptiles" alias, "Children of the Serpent" as well as the "Beast" races of Genesis 9:5... So we have "Reptiles" as the literal translation, "Moving Thing" which for all purposes would even justify cannibalism, or the clear idea that this was not a food law, but an order to ethnically cleanse our lands of all non-Aryans..

3 Every reptile that exists is yours to destroy, even the young sprouts, all of them are yours.

Gen 9:3 And every thing that moveth, and liveth shall be meat for you: even as the green herbs have I delivered them all to you:

In ancient Biblical Language, consuming, as if to eat, also means to kill, further, "sprouts" or "green herbs" is also symbolic of both infantile plants as well as infantile humanity, in Psalm 137:7-9 "Remember, O Yahweh, the children of Edom, in the day of Jerusalem: Who say: Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof. 8 O daughter of Babylon, miserable: blessed shall he be who shall repay thee thy payment which thou hast paid us. 9 Blessed be he that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock." Hereby is an example of infanticide, clearly, as we know, Edomites were mixed with Canaanites and also with Nephalim Bloodlines. "Serpents, Reptiles Hebrew - Vipers - Greek"

4 Only the flesh with the Spirit, of your blood shall not be destroyed.

Gen 9:4 Saving that flesh with blood you shall not eat.

5 Most certainly for the bloodshed of your lives, you shall tread upon the murderous hands of all non-Aryans, and for the murderous hands of Aryans, at the hands of his own brothers, I order the taking of life from the Aryan.

Gen 9:5 For I will require the blood of your lives at the hand of every beast, and at the hand of man, at the hand of every man, and of his brother, will I require the life of man.

6 Whomever spills Aryan blood, Aryans shall spill their blood, because in the spiritual nature of the Heavenly Hosts the Aryan was created.

Gen 9:6 Whosoever shall shed man's blood, his blood shall be shed: for man was made to the image of God.

7 You shall breed and increase, to be abundant in the land, exceedingly.

Gen 9:7 But increase you and multiply, and go upon the earth and fill it.

As in comparison to Genesis 6:1 And it came to pass, when Aryans bred and multiplied upon the surface of the higher ground [1] and daughters were begotten, 2 that the rebels of the Heavenly Hosts [2] took for themselves the daughters of Aryans because they were beautiful; and they took their choice of these woman, away from their kind, [3] whomever they selected. [4] 3 And Yahweh said My anger shall no longer be concealed [5] from the Aryans, for they are also accountable for the use of their bodies: [6] I will give them a continuance of one hundred and twenty rotations. [7] 4 There were evil ones [8] on the land at that time, and also the times that followed, when the rebels of the Heavenly Hosts procreated [9] with daughters of Aryans, and they produced offspring to them, these were the tyrants [10] from the beginning, [11] men of infamy. [12] NAT Clearly these hybrids survived the Flood, since the flood was regional, as from original translation of the Scriptures.

The Food Laws are in effect, and as this article points out, only through misunderstanding, do those whom deny such a fact, justify their error....

Pray for, be kind to all God’s animals, Church urged
    By Tessa Salazar / 12/31/2007

MANILA, Philippines -- Start the New Year with a compassionate eye for animals, animal welfare groups have appealed to members of the Catholic Church.

After all, they reason, animals were the only ones with the Holy Family when Jesus was born in a manger.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the Animal Welfare Coalition (an umbrella organization of 21 groups nationwide and two groups from the United Kingdom) and the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) are calling on Catholic bishops and priests to include compassion for animals in their New Year homilies to the faithful.

The animal welfare groups stress that people should reduce their meat consumption during the holidays, not just for health reasons but also out of compassion for animals that are cruelly slaughtered for the traditional media noche (midnight meal) feast.

The beef, pork or chicken they’re enjoying had their “throats slit, limbs hacked off and skin torn from their bodies while still conscious. Pigs were plunged into vats of scalding water for hair removal while still conscious and chickens were scalded alive in feather-removal tanks,” says Rochelle Regodon, campaigns manager of PETA-Asia Pacific.

They should also reduce, if not totally forego, the use of ear-splitting firecrackers to avoid stressing their pets. A dog’s hearing -- as well as a cat’s -- is 10 times more sensitive than a human’s.

    Violent places on earth

PETA says slaughterhouses are among “the most violent places on Earth ... it’s ironic that the celebration of the [birth] of the Son of God is a feast of slaughtered pigs, cows, chicken and animal flesh.”

“In Jesus’ time, animal sacrifice was largely an excuse for people to eat animal flesh, and Jesus challenged the practice at every turn. He drove the merchants selling animals for sacrifice and consumption from the temple, instituted baptism in place of animal sacrifice, saying that God ‘requires mercy, not sacrifice.’ He also rejected both animal flesh and sacrifice at the Last Supper -- a vegetarian Passover meal,” notes Regodon.

Ramona Eliza T. Consunji, external affairs officer of the Animal Welfare Coalition, says that there are “references on the rights and welfare of animals found in the Bible. The connection between cruelty to animals and desensitized men are clearly defined in the Bible.”

She cites Proverbs 12:10 which says: “A good man takes care of his animals, but wicked men are cruel to theirs.”

    Pray for animals

For her part, Nita Hontiveros Lichauco, president of PAWS, has this to say: “The secret to real and lasting peace is staring us in the face ... Simply let the animals into our lives. It is what the natural law dictates -- humans and animals are co-beneficiaries of this world.”

How do humans let animals into their inner sanctum?

“One great way is to pray for them daily,” Lichauco says.

Another is “to officially include them in church prayers, not only in October (when World Animal Day is celebrated) but also during New Year’s Eve ceremonies. Then watch and see true and lasting peace expand in homes, in our lives, in our country, in the world,” she says.

Consunji adds: “Preaching about love and forgiveness for one’s neighbor without teaching respect for all creatures is hypocritical.”

    Gluttonous proportions

“Ironically, there is no other season which exploits animals more than on the very month that Jesus was born. We continue the feast as we usher in the New Year, to gluttonous proportions,” says Regodon. “Wouldn’t it be better if food on the table wasn’t the result of cruelty and abuse?”

PETA explains that animals raised for food are subjected to violent, painful procedures such as de-horning, de-beaking, and castration, all of which are done without anesthesia.

“In order to maximize profits, factory farmers confine animals to spaces so small they can barely turn around,” Regodon says. “Many never see the light of day or feel soil or grass beneath their feet. When they have reached the end of their brief growth cycles (artificially accelerated by drugs), they are trucked away to their deaths.”

    Free vegetarian kit

“Our intention is to raise awareness on behalf of God’s creatures and to make the world a more merciful place. We want to put a stop to animal abuse and foster compassion toward all creatures by encouraging the adoption of a vegetarian diet. This is entirely in keeping with the most cherished ideals of people of faith,” Regodon says.

PETA is encouraging those who want to give up meat to visit for a free vegetarian starter kit which is loaded with information, tips and recipes.

“Please consider exploring veganism, the only diet that is compassionate and respectful of all God’s creation. To find out more, visit,” adds Regodon.

    Solving world hunger

In his book “Diet for a Small Planet,” Frances Moore Lappe wrote that the feed cost of an eight-ounce steak is equivalent to a full cup of cooked cereal grains for 45 to 50 people. The 4.8 pounds of grain fed to cattle to produce one pound of beef for human beings represents a colossal waste of resources in a world still teeming with people who suffer from profound hunger and malnutrition.

According to the British group Vegfam (a famine relief charity organization which believes in vegetarianism), a 10-acre farm can support 60 people growing soybeans, 24 people growing wheat, 10 people growing corn but only two producing cattle.

According to Food Revolution author John Robbins, “under even the best of circumstances ... a meat-based diet is incredibly wasteful of the resources and inputs that make food production possible. If we are serious about creating a thriving, just and sustainable way of life for all, it is imperative that we shift to a plant-based diet.”

Physician and author Dean Ornish M.D., who developed the Ornish Diet, specifically formulated to reverse heart disease, recommends a vegetarian diet together with exercise, meditation, an emotional support group and no smoking.

It is my belief that keeping the food laws are not needed for salvation but rather are a roadmap to good health for YHWH's children. I personally do keep them and believe all Chrisitians should if they want to enjoy long life and happiness.

    Pork Is Not Food!!!

    To Whom it May Concern:

    Pork Is Not Food!!!

Pastor V.S. Herrell recently posted an article, “A Kraut of Krauts”, which not only condones, but even promotes the consumption of swine, using poor translations and interpretations of several New Testament passages in order to do so. In the article he also slanders all those who may disagree with him, by labeling them with the “Judaizer”, “mongrel” or “jew” epithets as a cunning device in order to somehow discredit his adversaries before they could even reply. Now Herrell may be full of tough talk, but if he called me a “mongrel” or a “jew” to my face I’d be willing to go out into a back lot with him at any time to settle the matter man to man. I’m not attempting threats of violence or a display of boasting or zealous bravado here, but would only like to get one thing straight up front: I will not be intimidated by Herrell’s arrogance. And my ancestors having come from a small village in the Rhineland, I am just as much of a “kraut” as he is. Herrell’s article makes many other mistakes concerning the history of the White race, and also ridiculously associates the issue of swine with race and aesthetics, as if insinuating that all beautiful White people must eat pork, or one cannot possibly be beautiful or White! However those other errors shall not be addressed here.

Isaiah Chapter 66 contains a prophecy that most reasonable men agree is an end-times prophecy. In the middle of this prophecy, at verse 17, we find the following: “They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.” The KJV, NAS, and the Septuagint are all quite similar here, so I have supplied the reading of the KJV. Isaiah’s prophecy concerns the dispersed children of Israel, who are those same Germanic pagans eating swine’s flesh in pagan idol-groves which he is describing! Yet it must be known that Herrell is a Preterist: one who believes that all Biblical prophecy was fulfilled by 70 AD and the destruction of Jerusalem. So in Herrell’s errant view of the Bible, none of the Old or New Testament prophecies could possibly be referring to any one of us today. His preterist views have seriously adverse affects on his interpretation of all things Biblical.

The crux of Herrell’s argument promoting the consumption of swine is centered around the discourse of Yahshua Christ found at Matthew 15:16-18. Herrell quotes his own AST translation of this passage, and then he paraphrases it, as follows: “‘Are you yet also unintelligent? Do you not yet perceive that everything entering into the mouth goes to the stomach, and it is thrown into the toilet? But the things coming forth from the mouth come forth from the heart, and those make the man common’ (Matt. 15:16-18 AST).

“Once again, we could paraphrase Christ, and He would say, ‘Are you so stupid that you cannot understand that when you eat meat it goes through your digestive tract and winds up in the toilet. Meat is just an inanimate object. It does not make you impure or defile you or make you evil. Evil comes out of your own heart; out of your own thoughts, wherein you are maladjusted and in rebellion to the law of God, which is in Christ Jesus.’”

Now, was Yahshua Christ truly talking about “meat” at Matthew 15:16-18, as Herrell is claiming? While not all of the gospel accounts of everything which Yahshua Christ did and said are exactly alike, they are all records of the same or similar events, and they must all be considered true – provided the oldest and best manuscripts are the sources being used, and that there is agreement among them. One writer often recorded things a little differently than another, having his own priorities in the importance of recording what was done or said for posterity. While one writer remembered one statement which stood out in his mind, another recorded something else, or even the same thing but a little differently. Yet each account is representative of the truth of the matters. Therefore it is dishonest to build a doctrine upon any single passage in the Bible without first examining all of the related passages and considering all implications. So here I shall not address Matthew’s account, which contains neither the words “meat” nor “food”, but rather the parallel account given by Mark, found in chapter seven.

Here is Mark 7:17-19, from the Christogenea New Testament: “17 And when He had entered into a house away from the crowd, His students asked Him the parable. 18 And He says to them: ‘Thusly also are you without understanding? Do you not perceive that everything from outside entering into the man is not able to defile him 19 because it does not enter into his heart but into the belly, and it goes out into the latrine, cleansing all foods?’”

In Mark’s account, the word “food” occurs. Now some translations may have “meat”, however the word is broma, that which is eaten, food, as opposed to kreas, flesh, meat, a piece of meat. So it is evident that Yahshua Christ was talking in His discourse about food in general, and not of meat specifically, but especially not of unclean meats, which, as we shall see, cannot be considered food if they are not something which is normally eaten. Now the question is this: is pork, or swine, really considered to be food by the apostles and other Hebrew Israelites who heard His discourse? If this were so, then if Yahshua advocated the consumption of swine – contrary to His own laws in the Old Testament, why would Peter still show concern for such things, as we see it is recorded at Acts 10:14: “And Petros said “Not at all, master, because not ever have I eaten anything profane and unclean.” Certainly, Peter still considered many things to be “unclean”, and therefore not “food”, long after Yahshua Christ had been resurrected. Was Peter also a mongrel, as Herrell would consider all of us today who are concerned with such things? Or does Herrell not rather have evil arguments and blasphemies coming forth from out of his own heart?

While V. S. Herrell and I would fully agree on issues concerning race, the importance of purity of blood, the jews themselves, and perhaps other things, I would hesitate before following him in anything without scrutiny, yet that same scrutiny must be applied to any teacher: Study to show thyself approved, and follow no man blindly.

What follows is a section of my paper, William Finck vs. the Paul-Bashers, which is available here. It addresses this same issue, with another who had argued it for reasons entirely different than Herrell’s.

<Section #75> Clayton Douglas states: “Did you know it was Saul/Paul who taught, ‘One person may have faith enough to eat any kind of food; another less strong, will eat only vegetables.’ It was his messages which convinced the world that it was now ‘perfectly OK’ to eat, well, just about anything you felt like eating ... in DIRECT VIOLATION OF GOD’S DIETARY LAWS. God’s Dietary Laws were not handed down to you to make your life difficult. God gave them to you to PROTECT YOU from sickness and disease. Paul didn’t care much about what God wanted. ‘Let them eat Pork’ became Paul’s motto. And, so God’s People became sick ... and confused. More poisoning courtesy of The Serpent.”

In reply to section <#75>: Again Clayton Douglas is a fabricator of lies, for Paul never spoke about the eating of pork, never mind Douglas’ false claim that he approved of it! The scripture to which Douglas refers here is found in Romans chapter 14, and he apparently paraphrased v. 14:3. Again, notice that he does not state as much. But because Paul said that all foods may be eaten, does that mean that he advocated eating pork? Certainly not! For if pork is not normally considered food, then it cannot be included in the category of “all foods”, even if we today do consider it to be so. Pork was not considered “food” to first century Judaeans, nor to many first century Greeks. Although earthworms and roaches are edible and contain nourishment, I certainly would not eat them even if people of other cultures do, and so I would not consider them to be “food”. Neither do I consider swine to be “food”, even though many people today do, and so I do not eat swine, and furthermore I do not consider Paul’s statement at Romans 14 as any sort of encouragement or commission to eat swine, knowing that Paul is talking about food, which swine is not! As we can fully discern from Romans chapter 14 and from 1 Corinthians chapter 10, early Christians were at odds as to whether they should eat any flesh, or meat, at all. This was for cultural reasons, and not because anything in the Scripture promoted vegetarianism. If we are ignorant of Greco-Roman history and culture, neither can we discern the context in which the gospels and epistles of the New Testament were written! We would all be as ignorant as Clayton Douglas!

Greek temples were not merely places where pagan rituals and the worship of false gods were conducted. They also served as centers for community, lounges and restaurants, centers for organized prostitution, banks and other things. Greek city-dwellers took many of their meals at these temples, drank, and often participated in the other activities in which these temples engaged. Markets were attached to the temples, where animals could be purchased to make sacrifices to the idol, or where meat from sacrificed animals could be purchased. Some of these practices were even conducted at the Temple in Jerusalem (i.e. John 2:15). Such was the dilemma of first century Christians in Greece and Rome, where it was difficult to find meat which had not been sacrificed to an idol: to a false pagan god. Such was the reason for Paul’s discourses at Romans 14 and 1 Corinthians 10:14-31, which in Paul’s perspective (contrary to Clayton Douglas) had nothing to do with swine!

Additionally, we see in Strabo’s Geography that swine was not accepted at all Greek temples, and that of the temples of Aphrodite swine was accepted at only a few (9.5.17). The famous temple of Aphrodite at Corinth was not among those which accepted swine. Strabo himself considered the eating of swine to be unclean (12.8.9), and tells us that at Comana in Pontus swine weren’t even allowed into the city. So in the Greek world, we see division on this issue in the pages of Strabo. Clayton Douglas, the Man of Scoffing, understands none of this, and like most so-called Christians today, takes Paul’s statements in these chapters entirely out of context. Paul never advocated or approved the consumption of swine’s flesh.

    Re: Pork Is Not Food!!!

Source: USA - 40% jump in food prices (except swine) antisipated!

Food commodity prices will increase more than previously expected in the next decade because of rising energy prices and developing countries’ rapid growth, two leading organisations said on Tuesday, worsening the outlook for global food security.

“A return to higher global economic growth . . .  together with continuing population gains, are expected to increase demand and trade and underpin prices,” the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development said in their annual agricultural outlook.

Higher crude oil prices would add force to rising agricultural commodities prices, particularly in those regions – including Europe and the US – where energy inputs such as fertilisers were used intensively, said the report.

For the next 10 years the FAO and OECD forecast that significant food prices, with the exception of pork, would remain above the 1996-2007 average, in both nominal and real terms – adjusted for inflation. Although prices were unlikely to surge back to the record levels of early 2008, they warned that “if history is any guide, further episodes of strong price fluctuations . . . cannot be ruled out, nor can future short-lived crises”...

Re: Pray for, be kind to all God’s animals, Church urged

I'm in full agreement. I just had a discussion with my neighbor two days ago on this very subject. He tried to use the "Peter's vision" of Acts as an argument FOR pork. That gave me the opportunity to show him that Peter's vision had absolutely nothing to do with food. He's a chef and he loves his pork so I doubt I will change his eating habits but he did change the way he interprets Acts 10.

I'd just like to add that our old buddy Lindstink is an unrepentant swine eater who has bragged about how much he loves pork and why would he follow YHWHs food laws when he has never obeyed the Commandments? which are required for salvation.

Re: Yahweh's Food Laws: Bacon, Pig, Boar, Ham, Swine or Hog?

The Old Covenant Demand of Obedience

“Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of Yahweh and His statutes which I command you today for your good? . . . This day Yahweh your God commands you to observe these statutes and judgments; therefore you shall be careful to observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deu 10:12-13 and Deu 26:16)

Yahweh 's law demands obedience (whole-hearted obedience), but it does not provide the necessary spiritual resources for living an obedient life!

When Israel was about to enter the Promised Land, Moses restated what God's law required. "Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but . . . to walk in all His ways . . . and to keep the commandments of Yahweh. . . therefore you shall be careful to observe them with all your heart and with all your soul." Remember, the commandments of God called for holy living. "You shall be holy, for I Yahweh your God am holy" (Lev 19:2). The measurement for this required holiness was God Himself. This represented a high and lofty standard, far beyond what man could reach on his own.

Additionally, God was not calling them to an external religious behaviorism, but to wholehearted obedience: "keep the commandments . . . observe them with all your heart." From deep within their innermost being, the children of Israel were to fully obey Yahweh. They were to truly and sincerely observe all that Yahweh had commanded. There were to be no inner reservations or hesitations.

What the law demanded was good. "The law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good" (Rom 7:12). Yet, the resources were lacking. Man could not measure up on his own. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom 3:23). Furthermore, this perfect law offered no help to change man into what it required. "The law made nothing perfect" (Heb 7:19). Praise Yah, there is a provision that can accomplish what the law cannot do. "On the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope" (Heb 7:19).

That effective hope is the grace of God.

In parts of the south they use pig for seasoning. I'm serious. :puke:

They put the slop in everything from green beans to fancy steaks.

    Yahweh's food laws

I hope someone can help me but i remember reading a sermon or teaching on Yahweh's food laws where swine were being fed fetus', which in return would make those who consumed swine flesh guilty of cannibalism.
Can some one direct me to that sermon, please?
Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
