    Creation

    Genesis 1 and 2

    Unknown point in time:
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

    Destruction of First Earth Age:
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Day 1 Creation of Second Earth Age:
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

    Day 2:
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

    Day 3:
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

    Day 4:
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

    Day 5:
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

    Day 6:
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (NOTE: REPLENISH THE EARTH)

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

    Day 7:
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Erik, I am so pleased that you started this thread and posted this sermon of Pastor Vissers:

I have never given the “Eighth Day Creation” of Adam any serious consideration, however after listening to the
sermon it seems that a few difficulties are overcome in the Biblical calendar and some strange things explained.

At the same time as you point out, you can still hold to the Old Earth Creation prior to Genesis 1:3

    The difficulties I had were:

    • The 6000 to 8000 year old range of the “gene SLC24A5” for white skin.
    • The Biblical geologies placing the creation of Adam only 6000 years ago.
    • A world-wide flood only ±4440 years ago, and a consequent 1000 year Ice Age so recently.

With the Eighth Day Creation, and the one day a thousand year concept, this is what it looks like then:

    Eaighth Day Creation.png

After the Flood and with the new continental topography, the warm ocean driven Ice Age and lower sea levels
allowed Noah’s descendants to rapidly encircle the globe. It also explains the origin of the ancient maps of
Antarctica’s coastline, just before the polar seas froze with the cooling ocean temperatures.

Although a very strict Young Earth Creationist, Ken Hovind’s seminars do a very good job of debunking the
millions and millions of years” needed by evolutionists to prop up their theory.

The cooling oceans resulted in the end of the Ice Age, the Mega Fauna extinction, the Grand Canyon,
isolated continents, flooded Black Sea basin, frozen poles and the long protracted gradual desiccation
of Asia Minor, the Middle East and Central Asia
    :

This area was so wet in recorded history at the time of Alexander the Great, that he was able to supply his
advancing army with supply ships from Greece through the Black Sea, Caspian Sea, Ariel Sea and up the
river system from there deep into Central Asia. All those river systems and cities are today almost
indistinguishable in the desert landscape. ( I’ll try and find a link to that documentary.)

It is this recent drying out process that is frequently referenced in the Bible accounts and what drove the
many recorded migrations and invasions around the ancient world !

It all seems to be gradually fitting nicely together in the Biblical Calendar:

Gen 1:1 Unknown point in time
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.

    Gen 1:9-10 Day 3
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

Here’s an interesting point you may have missed... We see in Day 3 God puts all the water into one place (Sea/Ocean) and says let the dry land appear and the dry land is called Earth… This proves that the Earth was covered in water by the deluge that covered the Earth (whole world/land) that was created in Gen 1:1.

Yes, so the First Earth Age ended in Genesis 1:2 as you’ve corrected me recently.

Therefore, most of what geologists describe happening has occurred in our current Second Earth Age.

I saw a very interesting documentary a few years ago. Except for the time scale, could it be that geologists actually describe Genesis 1:9-10 perfectly. Basically they describe the formation of a supercontinent which subsequently broke up into the continents as they exist today:

Each continent is made up of several “cratons”. I think Africa is made up of five cratons, for example. In Genesis 1:2 all the cratons in the earth’s mantle were scattered and submerged under the oceans.

Cratons are less dense than the mantle they are deeply rooted in and therefore are suspended or even buoyed up in the denser mantle. Like other things that float in water for example, as they clump together they are buoyed up above the surface and any water they lift up drains away back into the depths. This is what happened to the cratons as they formed one “supercontinent”, and the water drained away from the emerging land, as described in Genesis 1:9-10 ! ! !
