Can "Facts" Ever Be Tongue in Cheek?

    by Arnold Kennedy

When talking to a Waiheke identity in the public library, I was asked, "Arnold, I hope those articles you write in The Waihekean are tongue in cheek." "Well," I replied, "They are designed to make people think but they ...

    Galatians and Israel Exclusive

    by Arnold Kennedy

Although Identity believers are convinced of the basic concepts of identity, that is:
That Jesus came to save "His people" from their sins.
That Jesus says He was not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
The Law and the Word was given as a covenant to Israel only.
That Israel in the New Testament is still the same people they were in the Old Testament.
That the so-called Gentiles in Romans and Galatians could only be Israelites.
That "The Jews" of the New Testament are not Israelites, that is, they are not Judahites.

... they still have areas, particularly in the book of Galatians, where they tend to get tossed about by every wind of doctrine, especially in regard to the words Greeks, together with the difference between Christ, Jesus, Jesus Christ, The Lord Jesus Christ and Christ Jesus. To say that the words are always interchangeable is a presumption. Churches allow the presumption, even if it is an error, as we shall see.

In two critical verses, Galatians 3:16 and Gal 3:29, the word, christos, is used. The word simply means "anointed." The concordances erroneously present things like, Christ, The Messiah, an epithet of Jesus. This is saying that "christ" is a surname of Jesus. This stays in people's minds as if it were the truth, because we have been taught to think that way from usage. This is far from right. When we see the expression "Jesus Christ" it is hard to imagine why the Apostle Paul chose to leave Iesou [Jesus] out in some passages ...

    Jesus Was Not "Jewish"

    by Arnold Kennedy

A key deception that has diffused throughout most denominations relates to the following areas:
    1. That Jesus was "Jewish." 2. That "The Jews" are God's chosen people. 3. The Jews are always Israelites, and the word "Jews" is a synonym for Israel. 4. "The Jew" and "The Jews" means the same thing. 5. That the racial term for "Jews" [Judah] is the same as the territorial term for "Jews" [Judean]. 6. That "Jewish Law" means the law given through Moses. 7. That Judaism and Christianity are complimentary.
These ideas have "crept in unawares" into churches, and not one of them is valid. To look at this as a subject, we ...

    "Of One Blood"—Acts 17:26

    by Arnold Kennedy

Acts 17:26 is a verse which some people like to use to support the idea that there is no difference between races.

"And hath made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation'." KJV

Three immediate points need to be made.
    1. In the majority of Bible manuscript texts, the word "blood" is not there. A look at most parallel Bibles, will give some continuation of this.
    2. This verse is an excellent ...

The Popular Mis-use of the Word "Christ"

    by Arnold Kennedy

It is important to note the New Age with its theosophy uses the words, Father, Mother, Spirit, Lord, Satan, Jesus, and particularly the word "christ." In popular Christian preaching, writing and radio, the word "christ" is used more and more in the New Age fashion as a name in the place of "Jesus." Often teachers and writers make direct transposition of "Jesus" to "Christ" when scripture verses are quoted. The word "Christ" is popularly being used in preaching, books and on radio as a name in a way that is often scripturally invalid. This is partly due to newer so-called translations. ...

    What Does "Adoption" Really Mean?

    by Arnold Kennedy

The commonly accepted doctrine about Jews and Gentiles provides a basis for the popular thought that non-Israelites can be adopted into Israel. In the Old Testament it is claimed that strangers who became circumcised, kept the Passover and Law of Moses and became as Israel. On the surface this looks to be a reasonable case and appears to fit together in a unified view. However, these views are contested; the intention is to show: 1) That adoption refers to the adoption of sons out of the Children of Israel, 'sons' being huios and 'children' being teknon. 2) That strangers in the Old Testament may often refer to Israelites who were resident among the nations, living apart from the main body of Israel. There are different ...
