GALATIANS (Part #14)
( Galatians 6:3 to 6:10 )
MP3 (10.1 mb)

(Raw Text:)

hello again faithful friends and listeners and thank you for joining me my name is pastor Visser of the covenant people's church and ministry located in Brooks Georgia and today we intend on continuing our long-running series scrutinizing the letter of Paul the Apostle to the Galatians and if you were with me for segment 13 about a week ago we left off in the final chapter of Galatians chapter 6 but verse 2 where Paul says bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ meaning in so doing you will fulfill the law of Christ and doing what bearing one another's burdens or hardships now this is an important statement and because Paul makes it we devoted a fair amount of time a week ago looking at this royal law as James describes it or this law of Christ as Paul says which is basically as we just said walk around doing on to your neighbor as you would have them do unto you now in many ways that's an oversimplification but truly if we could esteem every adam i or israelite greater than we do ourselves then yahweh god will most assuredly be pleased with us but unfortunately that's not really the way of the flesh the way of flesh is as Paul says to desire vain glory which at the end of the day is what nothing but vanity in the first place because there's really no glory that can be found within us as we dwell within the flesh now we're about in this fourteen segment to move into one of the greatest statements I believe Paul ever made it's found right here in galatians chapter 6 but he continues after he says bear one another's burdens and verse 3 Paul says if a man thinks himself to be something when he is nothing he deceives himself now that's really a great statement because I want you to notice Paul doesn't say that it's wrong to walk around believing you're something because we truly are something in Christ if we comprise his body and that most assuredly is what Paul's about to talk about here but notice the commandment is if a man walks around believing he is something when he is nothing he's deceived already deceived now why would Paul command that because he wants us to have the proper spirit to fulfill this royal law of Christ which is to put the needs of others before our own which is exactly what Christ and going God did however seemingly is one of the hardest things for an Israelite man woman or child to do within the flesh because we are so self-serving don't believe me we'll turn with me to concrete Galatians 3 6 or Galatians 6 3 - Romans here in Romans chapter 12 beginning right in verse 1 Paul says I beseech you brethren by the mercies of God that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice holy acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service what is Paul saying there basically what Solomon says in his book of Ecclesiastes and I've espoused from this very pulpit and that is in doing the law in serving God that is the whole duty of man that's what you're commanded to do by Yahweh God in the first so God's not gonna come in and thank you for your observance to the Mosaic law no more than he would Peter for his observance regarding circumcision however Paul goes through the long list here in this book talking about the works of the flesh the fruit of the Spirit and how they're so opposite but he says of the fruit of the Spirit in Chapter five of such there is no law meaning that you can do all the fruits of the Spirit as much as you want you and there's no prohibition or limitation on doing good unto both your neighbor or even them who persecute you so Paul continues here in Romans verse 2 of chapter 12 be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove that which is good acceptable and the perfect will of God three things that you can fulfil and show to the world by not being conformed unto the world so in context Paul is teaching about nonconformity underbid ibly but it's in relation to the Mosaic law once again and Pulse admonitions and warnings that you're not justified you're only saved through grace he continues to say here in Romans chapter 12 but verse 3 pay close attention for I say Paul speaking through the grace given unto me to every man that is among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think but to think soberly according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith what does that mean that means that in the Christian body we are all one however most assuredly according to Ecclesiastes chapter one we are all at varying levels within the faith and in Christ parable of the workers he clearly said that whether we come at the third the sixth or the nine we're all paid the same indiscriminately so what can we take from Romans chapter 12 verse 3 it is this God gives the measure or amount of faith unto each man that they already have so when Paul says in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 8 that churn is not saved through works but you're saved through grace by faith I stand on the statement that the amount of faith we have denotes the amount of grace that is imparted unto you even continues on in verse 4 although we don't have time of Romans chapter 12 for as we have many members in one body and all members have not the same office so we being many are one body in Christ and every one of us members of one another now in oh so many ways that should be common sense because if the church according to the first chapter of Ephesians is the body of Christ and we are the many membered body of Yahshua who are fitly joined together and work in unison not everybody's going to be a bishop not everybody's going to be a pastor not everyone's going to be a sunday-school teacher but one thing Paul requires and Christ for that regard us to have for one another is perfect love charity that is to fulfill the law of Christ Paul says if a man believes that he is something when he is nothing he's already deceived and then continues to say for if a man think he is nothing or something then he is nothing he deceives himself but meaning Paul continues but let every man prove his own work and then he shall not have rejoicing in himself alone and not in another now many manuscripts render this both ways but what you need to understand is Paul is basically telling you something that we within this truth based movement neglect oh so many times and that is that all Gouri can go to God and the only thing that we can boast within is our own reasonable service to God our own good work let every man proof or justify or confirm his own work meaning fruit or what he brings forth now notice there is technically no fruit of the Spirit according to Galatians 5 there is only the works of the flesh technically and the fruit of the Spirit excuse me meaning that true genuine works are all day that are done in the spirit of Yahweh God now here he says let every man prove his own work turn with me to first Corinthians it is here where Paul also is the author but I want you to consider a statement he makes in the eleventh chapter of 1st Corinthians Paul says here beginning in verse 27 wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread and drink this cup of Yahweh unworthily shall be guilty of the body and the blood of Jesus Christ what is he talking about communion obviously and while we don't have time today I most assuredly have done studies looking at communions potential blessings and curses and I'm sure many of you didn't know that that if you go down and actually take communion and are unworthy to do so you can bring a curse upon yourself but right after this point no too he says in verse 28 but let a man examine himself and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that Cup for he that eats and drinks unworthily eats and drinks damnation unto himself not disconcerning the lord's body now we're not going to spend a lot of time because my intention is not to look at communion that is as in-depth as we have circumcision in this particular series but notice Paul is talking about communion here and saying that a man needs to self-examine needs to actually look at if he's fulfilling this royal law before he goes and drinks the blood of Christ the body of Yahshua unworthily and brings damnation upon himself so let every man prove his own work and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone and not in the works of others how can we apply that in today's current era well many of us go around and we say well what would dr. Bertrand say what would pastor Wesley say right and nine times out of 10 we usually will glory in other men as opposed to the law of God the advancement of his coming Kingdom or even in times of persecution and before we actually move on here let me make an announcement as of this morning apparently every covenant people's book has been taken down by the distributor meaning that you'll no longer be able to order them in Amazon loulou venues such as that and while we never really sold a lot of books be sure to go by covenant peoples ministry calm the address will be re given here in about eight or so minutes and download a hard copy of those books because we need to also be joyful times of persecution now I know in many ways that sounds like an impossibility most of us as Israelite men women and children are only grateful when times are good but when things don't go our way we usually turn right around and we attack God well we're commanded to tell the truth and to preach in season and out of season that denotes not only the good times but also the bad times so by way of announcement if you've ordered covenant peoples books please bear with us as we fulfill those orders in the next week or so because obviously we're gonna have to file a dispute with the credit company and find out what happened to those orders but prove your own work do your own deeds now if you were with me a couple weeks ago I clearly said I was walking from certain venues and there was a reason for that because many of those venues I used to be affiliated with came in and basically said hey we're gonna livestream we're gonna cover the lost gospel of Peter we're gonna be pastor visser to paraphrase and while many of them are miserably failing and attempting to do so how do you like it now my point is is it's getting harder the enemy is turning up the heat and your support is greatly needed now more so than ever before prove your own work don't come in and say hey I'm going to be CI come in and say I'm going to be a faithful child to my Heavenly Father Yahweh then you have the right mindset but if you're coming to this movement saying hey you know what I want to prove I have more hate for God's creation than this man you're already missing the boat and you're already missing the mark every man needs to prove his own work and then he'll have rejoicing in himself not rejoicing in the works of others okay you have no control over what our people did 200 years go and even sicker is coming in and saying hey look at that great Hospital look at that great public school ironically all of which are being used in this latter era to brainwash and to fulfill Satan's agenda but you can't come in and say hey great that's my accomplishment the only accomplishment a man or a woman has in judgment are his own works now Christ didn't come in and say judge a tree according to their fruit because God's going to judge a tree differently than by what he does and so I have definitely taught this at this venue the only thing we can rejoice in or glory within is our God our nation this word and our own works that Yahweh blesses in the process many men put their hand to the plow but God doesn't bless what they sow okay they reap something entirely different so we're gonna move on now but always prove your own work don't spend your life trying to justify other men because all men are liars all men are wrong and I've learned through the years that basically it's almost impossible to truthfully preach the word even if you think you are there's always going to be a mistake there's always going to be an inconsistency but one thing you can never do without there being a direct consequence is coming in and attacking men most assuredly by name and attacking their works or attempting to circumvent them and pass them off as your own so something to consider he continues on here in Galatians chapter 6 but verse 5 he says for every man shall bear his own burden every man needs to bear his own burden did Christ teach differently not at all Christ clearly taught on the cost of discipleship and one of those costs of discipleship was if a man is not willing to pick up their cross and follow after Yahshua Messiah just like putting their hand to the plowshare and looking back they're not worthy to be his disciple so what else can be taught on this very simplistic statement every man will bear his own burden now why would Paul spend all this time talking about the royal law the golden rule and doing good unto others if at the end of the day all a person is going to do is bear their own burdens well the answer for that should be common sense we all die alone basically and we're all judged alone but turn with me to Romans I believe this is where you'll find the answer to that age-old question you know whether it's better to do good unto ourselves and be self serving like 98% of the world is out there or to do good unto others so consider a statement as its found in the second chapter of Romans but Paul says beginning in verse 5 after thy hardness and heart treasures up unto thy self wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of Yahweh God who will render every man according to his deeds now I'm sure you've probably heard that statement countless times but have you ever considered it because many people wonder what am i judged according to many of the Galatians wondered as well am I judged according to my adherence to God's law or am I judged according to how I treat others that you don't need me to point out that in practically every parable of Jesus Christ the Sheep or the wheat all of them are judged and the tares and the goats for that matter are judged on not how they serve the law not on how they served Yahweh God but on how they serve their neighbor to tell those goats in as much as you did this to the least of these my brethren you did it unto me so what can be said about all this well in short what is greater than following the Mosaic law which only keeps you on the straight and narrow and maybe a few fortunate people from being murdered it's not greater than doing good unto others which is the pattern Christ laid out he came a servant to all Israel he would wash the feet of his disciples so consider that statement now here in Romans you know well that this is technically what Paul is going through he goes through all of the things about bearing our own burdens and picking ourselves up within that process he continues to say to them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality and eternal life but unto them that are contentious and do not obey the truth but obey unrighteousness they inherit indignation and wrath but notice the usage of this word them who by patient continuous seek the glory going for themselves no glory for Yahweh God and so it truly does come down to that very simple aspect the man on one hand who wants the glory that is due Yahweh God will usually deem himself as a God which ironically is the very reason Satan fell in the first place through pomp ego and arrogance okay so we have to not be desirous of vain glory and we also while we're not desirous of vain glory and seek only the glory of our nation and our God and our faith not go around and provoke other people unto wrath let's continue here in Galatians chapter 6 let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teaches in all good things now have you ever considered that before I can sit here and tell you the deeper etymology of these Greek words I can tell you what a Hebrew statement means to verbally in Hebrew or even Aramaic but it is Yahweh God who will open your eyes and therefore I have a spouse from this pulpit I don't know how many times before you go to this word of truth always pray to God that he will open your eyes and give you understanding of the wisdom that is portrayed here let him that's you and I who are taught within the word communicate unto Him Yahweh God that teaches all good things now keep this in context notice he says if any man thinks he's something and he's nothing he's deceived he says what every man prove his own work and not glory within the works of others so then how can we apply this statement as its found in Galatians 6 verse 6 let him that has taught him the word communicate unto him that teaches all good things well part of the answer is given in the very next verse as Paul continues it but God's not locked remember Christ clearly taught as he walked my sheep hear my voice and will follow moreover I am known of my sheep now safe to say Christ knows whose are his we don't that's the difference and so we can go and we can thump men over the button the head with the Bible and say you must accept but nobody and I mean nobody not you not I not dr. so-and-so or pastor or theologian or Angela so-and-so even will be able to open the eyes of a man that Yahweh God is blinded okay so always go to God first because God is he who will give you eyes to see or ears to hear as clearly taught by Christ now in so many ways what we're teaching today is Christianity 101 their basic foundational steps that we need to apply within our Christian walk and being that we've touched on it by extension Christ teaching that we are to judge a tree by their fruit and that every man will be judged according to their own works or fruit it makes perfect sense why Paul goes on after this to say let him that is taught in the word communicate good things but in verse 7 be not deceived God is not mocked for whatsoever a man soweth that shall he reap now what's interesting about this mosaic teaching that is found within the law is that that if you will is the Royal law of Christ and the golden rule what you sow you will reap now many people have different terms for this they call it karma right they call it luck but scripture has so many examples of sowing and reaping that I've actually done a study on it proving that if you reap righteous seeds you'll or so righteous seed you'll reap a righteous bounty or harvest but if you walk around and are a seller of discord what are you gonna reap Paul says don't be mocked don't be deceived God is not mocked so God knows whose are his sheep and God also knows who are the tares we don't therefore this golden royal law still applies and will apply until Judgment when Christ stands before all nations and clearly tells them in as much as you did it to the least of these you did it unto me so why is this so important basically the theme of Galatians is don't be a self-serving prick like so many people are they only tend to their own flesh they only tend to their own needs like Lazarus did in the parable of Lazarus and dies but when they die it's too late why because God is not a respecter of persons but God when he judges makes us reap what we sow in short so it's very important walk around thinking that what you do will affect others why well because what you do do does affect others but if you have that mindset that mindset that was in Christ to be a servant unto Yahweh's children you won't fall be not deceived God is not mocked for whatsoever a man sows so also shall he reap Paul continues in verse 8 for he that sows to his flesh shall reap of the flesh corruption but he that sews unto the spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting isn't that interesting Paul just came through and says you're judged by your works but yet it is Paul in Ephesians most assuredly who would seemingly attack a works based doctrine by saying you're not saved by works you're saved by grace through thing what does he say right here he that sows to his flesh of his own flesh will reap corruption but he that sews to the Spirit the Holy Spirit Yahshua in short who is the head of that church shall reap life everlasting basically as you can see we are judged according to how we live and how we treat other clearly if we sow seeds of discord well we're considered the sower of discord hated of Yahweh God and cast out but if we sow to the spirit then that spirit the divine comforter well help us reap life everlasting so if a judeo-christian comes to you and says hey how am i saved take them right here to the final chapter of Galatians and explain to them what a man sews he will reap so as you go through life so only good seeds at the end of the day you can plant that seed okay but only Yahweh God can cause the rain and the latter rain to come and cause that seed to grow within the person so think about this on this level number one if you come in and beat somebody over the head with the Bible they're usually going to go the opposite way but number two if you plant a seed of example oftentimes it takes a while for that seed to germinate because it's in God's rightful and due time but at the end of the day even if that seed doesn't grow a seed sown in righteousness will reap righteousness here what Paul says life everlasting so when men and women come to you and say how do you enter into the kingdom the short answer is you enter into the kingdom judged on how you treat your neighbor or pleaseö as the word was in the Greek don't believe me turn with me again for the final time tonight to Romans chapter six great statement here beginning in verse seven Paul says for he that is dead is freed from sin stopping right there did you ever realize that when you're dead you're freed from the law okay the law only applies to what sinful flesh that means we live but once you're dead you can't go back and correct your transgressions of God's law you can't go back no more than Lazarus could in Christ parable and say hey can I have a second chance something to consider now he that is dead is freed from sin now if we be dead with Christ we believe that we shall also live with him why knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dies no more death has no dominion over him anymore when are you free from the law of death and sin as Paul puts it upon death p OD my friends payable on death so a man truly will reap what he throws and there's no greater work or a fruit than observing this golden rule doing good unto those in need but even greater doing good unto those who persecute you loving your enemy and in so doing I might add Porsche pulls a fire upon their head the only way to overcome evil is with good but if you render evil for evil evil begets evil and that my friends if you will is the summation of Galatians in a world where it's technically impossible to do good because it's getting harder and harder to do good and harder and harder to even sell books or sell compact myths or make a living don't let your heart be hardened very important because when your heart is hardened usually you'll go out and you'll be led around by the works of the flesh remember one of the works of the flesh is hatred variance emulations and strife so don't be frightful be a perfect peace and if you want to reap life everlasting do what we just covered in Romans chapter 6 verse 8 continuing on in verse 9 of Galatians final chapter and let us not be weary in well-doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not now if you faint if you stop you're never gonna reap okay now that comes full circle to what I was talking about early we can plant the scene and usually that seed is set by example how we treat others so consider the statement if an atheist is standing there wants to know if God is real or not and one man comes in and gives that atheist what's required not what he wants but what's required and is dictated by the Mosaic law and another man comes in and says you know what I'm faithful God came only for me only for my flock only for people who think like me who do you reckon at the end of the day it's going to be a greater witness to Yahweh God to that atheist or fool obviously it'll be the latter we lead by example that's why Christ fulfilled the law and not only fulfilled it because we couldn't but basically summed it all up in two statements love God with all your heart mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself all the law all the prophets hang upon those two why common sense basically all 600 plus laws centered around that anyway when God came in and said don't steal don't kill that falls under love your neighbor okay and love your God and love his children so don't be weary meaning don't faint preach in season out of season good times and bad and my friends right now is a horrible time so much censorship so many people who aren't even a brown shirt or a white nationalist being attacked for having a faith that is delivered unto the Saints this Christian faith that we strive to go after so if you're able to support ministries because now's the time when your support is needed because many of us are being erased behind the scenes consider a statement and Paul's second letter today in Corinth 2nd Corinthians chapter 4 but I want you to consider a statement right at the beginning Paul says therefore seeing we have this ministry as we have received mercy we think not but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty not walking in craftiness or handling the Word of God deceitfully but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God now perhaps you've heard that before but that also covers the golden rule that also means you're going to elevate up your brother greater than yourself why common sense who are the first siblings in Scripture Cain and Abel what was the differences between Cain and Abel Abel was a true shopper found favor we held a god became Cain didn't care and at the end of the day what it came say am I my brother's keeper short answer is yes we are that's the way God designed it for us to love one another and to look after one another in his absence until judgment and when he returns well guess what we're going to be judged on how we treated one another so are we our brother's keeper indeed we are and in this latter era that right there puts the difference between the works of the flesh and the fruits of the spirit the man who's led around by the works of the flesh is going to have that mindset just like Cain or go after the way of Cain as we read about it revelation they're gonna say am I my brother's keeper because they don't care for their brother but Christ's true children do so very important to understand now back here in Galatians chapter 6 verse 10 Paul continues as we have therefore opportunity let us do good unto all especially unto them who are of the household of faith wow such a statement isn't it because Paul doesn't come in and say love the pool Paul doesn't say love the sinner but hate to sin all says love day of the faith even more than they who are unfaithful which is exactly what Christ taught it's not meet to take the children's bread and cast it on to dogs it has to begin with us first and it makes perfect sense if we don't tend to our needs our proverbial ministries we won't be there later on to tend to the flock to lead the flock right do good unto all Israelites especially them who are of the household of faith now did Paul add this absolutely not this also is the law and the prophets turn with me to prove that point before we conclude to proverbs chapter 3 in proverbs chapter 3 verse 27 Paul says withhold not good from them to whom it is due when it is in the power of thine hand to do it understand that point as I said right now we tend to look at all transgression of God's law is sin but for him who knows to do good and does it not and keeps his hand from fulfilling that golden rule that also is sin why we've already covered it today all the law and the prophets are contingent on those two laws love God love his children so we as we or are given opportunity by Yahweh God let us do good to them especially they of the faith and so what does that mean judeo-christians come in and say we need to go out we need to love everybody and ironically they'll go over to the Land of Israel and they'll say hey I love Jesus Christ many of them will be incarcerated persecuted put to death okay because they don't understand this being wiser than serpent but harmless as does and at the end of the day we need to do good unto all which is the pattern meaning we won't be able to do it but if we're able to we should and that doesn't include the entire world okay in context who's he's writing the Galatians in Galatia a Gentile nation and unfortunately a Gentile adamite nation who is susceptible to being Judi iced under the Mosaic law of all things and so it stands today if you think for a minute going back to the Mosaic law is not in how right denial of Christ will prove that in the next upcoming segment segment 15 here in about a week from this very venue if you're able to support this ministry please do so and if not know that we'll be out here praying for you and we solicit your prayers as well and until I rejoin you for the next and continuing segment this is pastor Visser wishing you and your entire family great studies and war for Christ
